Liverpool win the title – July 2020

Back in July 2020, Liverpool famously won the Premier League for the first time in 30 years.

This memorable moment was secured when the Reds beat Chelsea at Anfield in a behind closed doors match due to Coronavirus. 

Gerrard’s slip -April 2014

Liverpool were in the title race back in 2014, until Mr Reliable Steven Gerrard slipped and gifted Chelsea a goal.

The Reds went on to lose the game 2-0 and had to wait six years until they could lift the title.

Unbeaten run broken – October 2008

Garcia ‘Ghost goal’ – May 2005

Liverpool earned a place in the Champions League Final in 2005, when they beat Chelsea 1-0 on aggregate thanks to a Luis Garcia goal.

The goal was a memorable one and was labelled as a ‘ghost goal’, as Garcia prodded the ball ‘home’ but there was major controversy as the ball was seemingly cleared off the line by William Gallas.

Action packed 4-4 – April 2009

Probably the most iconic match the two sides have partaken in came back in 2009 in the Champions League, when they battled it out in a 4-4 draw.
