Latest Transfer News: The Super Eagles On The Move This Summer

Although the football world’s main focus is solely on the World Cup 2026, with the semi-finals set to unfold this week, the excitement of the summer transfer window is quickly starting to build, with increasingly high-profile moves being rumoured as the weeks progress.

Several of these rumours involve Super Eagles stars, with numerous Nigerian eligible players being linked with moves away from their current clubs during the transfer window.

Here, we take a look at some of the Nigerian eligible players being linked with making a move this summer:

Paul Onuachu

Onuachu enjoyed a stunning goalscoring campaign for Trabzonspor in 2025/26, netting 24 goals in 33 games across all competitions, and that has reportedly earned the interest of multiple clubs around the world.

The biggest interest is supposedly from multiple clubs in Saudi Arabia, with Trabzonspor reportedly reluctant to part ways with the striker despite already receiving bids in the region of €20–25m.

Trabzonspor manager Mehmet Yilmaz did, however, admit that the club could be forced into a sale if Onuachu opts to leave.

Lesley Ugochukwu

Ugochukwu may have been part of the relegated Southampton side in 2024/25 and the demoted Burnley team in 2025/26, but the midfielder repeatedly produced performances worthy of a move to a stronger outfit, and that appears to be on the verge of taking place this summer.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the Nigerian-eligible midfielder is set to move from Burnley to reigning Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray for a deal worth around €30m.

The move would see Ugochukwu link up with Super Eagles superstar Victor Osimhen, and the Nigerian Football Federation would surely be hoping their talismanic striker could help convince the midfielder to represent the country going forward.

Tolu Arokodare

Arokodare was wanted by a host of European clubs after an impressive 22-goal campaign for Genk in 2024/25, but the striker struggled after making the eventual move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, netting only six goals in 38 games across all competitions.

Despite his difficult season, numerous European teams remain interested in the striker, especially as Wolves may be forced into taking a lower fee following their relegation from the English Premier League.

Trabzonspor and, most notably, Fiorentina are reportedly interested in the striker, with Fabrizio Romano stating that the striker has not been called up for Wolves’ pre-season squad due to ongoing talks with the Italian club for his signature.

Akor Adams

Adams is reportedly on the verge of moving from Sevilla to newly-promoted Venezia in the Serie A for a supposed fee of around €16m according to Fabrizio Romano.

The striker scored 10 goals in 32 La Liga games for Sevilla in 2025/26, helping them narrowly avoid relegation by just one point, and he will now be hoping to help steer Venezia to Serie A safety in 2026/27.

Justin Njinmah

Njinmah, the Nigerian-eligible striker, is reportedly attracting interest from numerous English teams, including English Premier League newcomers Hull City and Championship side Southampton.

Werder Bremen are understood to be keen on keeping the forward, who scored five Bundesliga goals in 2025/26, but both English teams are looking to strengthen their attacking options and are extremely interested in Njinmah’s pace and versatility.
