Cardiff were prolific on their way to promotion last season, scoring 90 League One goals at an average of almost two per game, and their recent matches suggest that attacking approach has not disappeared.
Their last seven competitive and friendly matches have produced totals of six, ten, six, seven, six, five and five goals respectively. That run includes a 5-1 win over Northampton, a 5-4 defeat at Mansfield and a remarkable 4-1 pre-season victory over Roma.
Cardiff also began their competitive campaign with a 3-2 EFL Cup win over Swindon, while defensive absences could give Wrexham opportunities at the other end. With both teams carrying plenty of attacking threat, over 3.5 goals is the foundation of our Bet Builder.
Yousef Salech to Score Anytime
Yousef Salech scored 15 goals in all competitions to finish as Cardiff’s leading scorer last season, and he has already started the new campaign in impressive form.
The striker scored twice against Swindon in the EFL Cup last weekend and will now look to prove that he can carry his goalscoring form into the Championship.
Salech also knows what it takes to score against tonight’s opponents, having opened the scoring when Cardiff beat Wrexham 2-1 in the EFL Cup last season. After a brace in his first competitive appearance of 2026/27, we’re backing him to strike again.

Smith reached double figures in the Championship last season and signed a new three-year Wrexham contract during the summer. He should once again be an important part of Phil Parkinson’s attack as they look to improve on last season’s narrow playoff miss.
Cardiff will be without Will Fish, while Calum Chambers and Dylan Lawlor are major doubts, leaving a depleted defence for Smith and the Wrexham attack to target.
George Dobson to Be Carded
A meeting between Cardiff and Wrexham should bring a little extra edge, so we’re heading to the card markets for the final two selections.
George Dobson collected eight Championship yellow cards last season and averaged around one foul and 2.3 tackles per 90 minutes. His role in the Wrexham midfield should put him right in the middle of the battle for control of the game.

The Wrexham wing-back was booked five times in 25 league starts across spells with West Brom and Blackpool last season. His potential battle with the pace of Cardiff winger Isaak Davies could give him a difficult evening defensively.
