SATURDAY 19 SEPTEMBER
TOTTENHAM VS ASTON VILLA
Tottenham Hotspur welcome Aston Villa to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as both sides look to turn around their early-season fortunes. Spurs are still searching for their first league win of the campaign, while Villa have also struggled for consistency in their opening fixtures. Both teams will be looking to show more attacking intent and put their recent struggles behind them.
The recent meetings between these sides have produced plenty of action, with Aston Villa winning each of the last three encounters by a 2-1 scoreline. Tottenham will be hoping home advantage can help them get a result this time, but Villa have shown they can cause problems in this fixture. With both sides needing a positive result, this could be an entertaining contest.

NEWCASTLE UNITED VS HULL CITY
Newcastle United will be looking to bounce back at St James’ Park after suffering a heavy 4–1 defeat away to Leeds United in their previous Premier League outing. Before that setback, the Magpies had shown plenty of attacking threat, scoring in each of their previous league games. Hull City, meanwhile, have made an impressive start to life back in the top flight and remain unbeaten in the league, including a 2–2 draw against Chelsea last weekend.
The recent meetings between these sides have also produced goals, with Newcastle winning 4–1 and 3–0 in two of their last four Premier League encounters, while another ended 2–2. Hull’s early-season matches have also seen goals at both ends, including their 2–2 draw at Stamford Bridge. With Newcastle looking to respond and Hull showing they can trouble established Premier League sides, this could be an open contest.

ROMA VS INTER MILAN
Roma head into this clash with Inter at the Stadio Olimpico having made a perfect start to their Serie A campaign, winning all four league matches and scoring 12 goals. Inter have matched that record, also taking maximum points from their opening four games, while their latest league outing produced an entertaining 5–3 victory over Udinese. With both sides averaging three goals per game so far, there is plenty of attacking quality on display.
Recent meetings have also produced plenty of goals, with Inter winning the last encounter 5–2 and the previous five Serie A meetings totalling 14 goals. Roma’s home form gives them confidence, but Inter’s ability to find goals from different areas of the pitch could make this a fascinating battle.

STUTTGART VS BORUSSIA DORTMUND
VfB Stuttgart welcome Borussia Dortmund to the MHP Arena with both sides arriving in contrasting positions. Stuttgart have had an inconsistent start to the Bundesliga campaign, but they remain capable of producing big attacking performances, while Dortmund have won all three of their leagues matches so far and have scored eight goals. BVB have also scored at least twice in each of their last five competitive matches.
This fixture has historically been one of the Bundesliga’s highest-scoring match-ups, with 381 goals across 112 meetings. The recent head-to-head record has also produced plenty of action, while Stuttgart’s attacking ability and Dortmund’s current scoring form could make this another lively encounter. With both sides possessing plenty of attacking quality, the game could produce a steady flow of chances and goals.

CELTA VIGO VS SANTANDER
Celta Vigo return to Balaídos looking for their first La Liga victory of the season after six matches without a win. They have scored just three goals in those six league games, while Racing Santander have been involved in much more open matches, with their six league fixtures producing 27 goals. Racing are also coming off a dramatic 7–2 defeat to Barcelona, highlighting the attacking and defensive unpredictability they have shown so far.
The most recent meeting between the sides was a thrilling 3–2 Copa del Rey victory for Celta in January 2025, while Racing’s recent matches have regularly produced goals. With Racing bringing an aggressive approach and Celta needing to be more productive in front of goal, this fixture could develop into a game full of attacking opportunities.

MANCHESTER CITY VS SUNDERLAND

City have won four of their last five matches across all competitions, while Sunderland have made a solid return to the Premier League and will be hoping to cause problems on their trip to Manchester.
The recent head-to-head record has generally favoured City, with their last meeting at the Etihad ending in a 3–0 victory. In fact, 11 of the 15 league meetings between these sides at City’s home ground have produced at least three goals. With City possessing plenty of attacking firepower and Sunderland capable of making the game competitive, the Etihad could be set for another lively afternoon.

FULHAM VS MANCHESTER UNITED
Fulham welcome Manchester United to Craven Cottage with both sides looking to improve their early-season fortunes. Fulham have managed just one point from their opening four league games, while United have collected four points from the same number of matches. However, both teams have shown they can produce attacking moments, with United’s league games averaging 3.5 goals so far and Fulham’s last two home league matches producing five goals each.
The head-to-head record also offers plenty of history, with Manchester United winning 21 of the previous 29 meetings and the last encounter ending in a 3–1 victory for the Red Devils.
