UEFA Champions League matchday five kicks off this week, with the first half of games taking place tonight before tomorrow night hosts the other half. All the games happening tonight occur within group E, F, G and H, and all of these groups could be filled with drama as the top two spots are still highly contested.
Read on as we look at the biggest games from tonight’s games and give you our top tips and best booking code:
Atletico Madrid to win, 2.77
Feyenoord vs Atletico Madrid
Atletico Madrid currently sit top of group E and a win tonight would confirm their finish within the top two and place in the knockout rounds, but a tough game against Feyenoord lies in their way. Feyenoord have grabbed six points from their four games leaving them just two points behind Atletico and one behind Lazio who play bottom placed Celtic, so a win for them is vital if they are to keep their hopes of advancing alive.
Atletico won the reverse fixture 3-2, and with them losing just once in their last 10 games compared to Feyenoord who have lost twice in their last five we expect that Atletico’s quality will shine through and win them all three points.
Erling Haaland to score anytime, 1.65
Manchester City vs RB Leipzig
Manchester City and RB Leipzig have found themselves up against each other multiple times in the last few years, with this being the third time they have been matched against them in the Champions League since 2021. In these games City have had a history of recording big results such as 7-0 and 6-3. Haaland has also recorded a good history against Leipzig, with the striker playing seven games against them across his time at Borussia Dortmund and City and scoring 11 goals, including five in one game earlier this year.
With this fantastic record against Leipzig as well as the form he has coming into this game, having scored seven in his last five across all competitions, we expect the Norwegian will score once again in this one.
Barcelona to win, 1.44
Barcelona vs FC Porto
Both Barcelona and Porto have won three and lost one in their opening four games with a goal difference of six. However, Barcelona sit top of the group due to their superior head-to-head record thanks to winning 1-0 in the reverse fixture in Portugal.
Barcelona are going through a slightly tough patch in recent weeks, with both their only losses of the season so far happening in their last five games. Despite this, we expect that their overall quality overpowers that of Porto’s and firmly expect them to take all three points.
Ciro Immobile to score anytime, 2.30
Lazio vs Celtic
Ciro Immobile hasn’t had the best of starts to the season compared to his previous records, with the Italian scoring just five goals in 16 appearances. While he may not have enjoyed the best of starts, his form seems to be picking up in recent games having scored three in his last five games.
We believe that this form will carry on in this game against bottom of the group Celtic and are backing Immobile to score in this one.
