FC Porto vs Manchester City
Enzo Maresca appears to have gotten things under control since that Community Shield hammering against Arsenal. City have won three straight games, scoring seven goals, and recorded their first clean sheet against Coventry at the weekend.
Their opponents FC Porto have also started the season brilliantly, winning five games, scoring 11 and conceding just one. Even though Porto have conceded just once all season, they have faced 4.6 expected goals, which suggests a team with better attackers like City will punish them.
- Both teams have scored a combined 18 goals this season.
- Erling Haaland has scored 8 goals in his last 10 European games.
Pick: Over 2.5 total match goals @1.64
Napoli vs Arsenal
Arsenal will be aiming to go one step further in the Champions League this season after losing the final to Paris Saint-Germain last time around, and their first test is a trip to Italy to face Napoli on Wednesday evening.
The Gunners maintained their perfect start to the campaign with a 2-1 win over Chelsea on Sunday, while Napoli threw away a two-goal lead as they went down to a 3-2 defeat at Inter Milan. Mikel Arteta’s men won all eight league phase games last season, and will simply prove too much for a Napoli team struggling under Max Allegri.
- Arsenal have four wins in four games this season.
- Napoli have conceded five goals in their last two games.
Pick: Arsenal win (2UP) @1.76
Stuttgart vs Viking
Stuttgart will be under pressure to claim all three points from their opening league phase game at home against UCL newcomers Viking FK on Thursday night.
Sebastian Hoeness’ side recovered from their defeat to Bayern by smashing Cologne 4-1 on Friday.
Viking have kept just one clean sheet in their last 12 games, and when you combine that with Stuttgart’s own inability to keep clean sheets, this should be an open game.
- Both teams have scored in Viking’s last seven matches.
- Stuttgart have scored nine goals in their last three games.
Pick: Stuttgart to win and both teams to score @2.10
Fenerbahce vs Roma
Fenerbahce and Roma begin their Champions League phase campaigns in outstanding form. The hosts have scored in 13 consecutive matches across all competitions, while Roma arrive unbeaten in 10 and on a six-match winning run.
Roma return to the competition for the first time since 2018-19 and are red-hot under Gian Piero Gasperini. They have won each of their last six matches, scoring 17 goals and conceding only three. This is a big call, but Roma’s outstanding form makes them the perfect value pick to take all three points.
- Roma have scored 10 goals in their last three games.
- Roma have won nine of their last 10 competitive games.
Pick: AS Roma to win (2UP) @2.21
Barcelona vs Feyenoord
Barcelona have started the new season on fire, blowing away all opponents in their first four La Liga matches, scoring 17 times and conceding just two goals.
Hansi Flick’s men will be keen to replicate that form when they take on Feyenoord in their UEFA Champions League opener.
The Dutch giants have lost seven of their last eight away matches in Europe, and they face a Barcelona side averaging close to 4.0 expected goals per game.
However, Barca can be exposed due to their high defensive line, and we could see goals on both sides.
- Barcelona have scored 17 goals in four games this season.
- Feyenoord have scored 13 goals in five games.
Pick: Barcelona to win and both teams to score @2.09
Total Odds – 30.11
