The English Premier League resumes this weekend, and with the season nearing its conclusion every upcoming grows increasingly more crucial.
This campaign’s title race has so far been one of the most entertaining that the division has seen in the Premier League era, and this week could be a defining moment come the end of the season. Current leaders, Liverpool face second-placed Manchester City on Sunday evening in a game that will see the winner take the top spot with just 10 games remaining.
Third-placed Arsenal are also firmly in the title race as they sit just two points behind the leaders, and the Gunners will be looking to make the most of the top two facing each other as they face Brentford this weekend.

Arsenal vs Brentford
Since losing three games in a row over the Christmas and New Year period, Arsenal have bounced back and gone on an exceptional run in the Premier League. Despite losing in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League tie against Porto in this time, Arsenal haven’t put a foot wrong in the league as they have won all of their last seven games and scored a massive 31 goals. This run has seen the Gunners become the first team in the division to win seven in a row this season, leaving them in great stead to continue their title push.

Aston Villa vs Tottenham Hotspur
One of the biggest matches of the weekend sees Aston Villa match-up against Tottenham Hotspur at Villa Park, a game of huge importance in the ongoing race for the fourth, and possibly final, Champions League spot.
Aston Villa currently hold fourth spot after a fantastic season which has seen them win 17 of their 27 games so far. Even though the Villans faced a brief stumble at the beginning of the month, they have quickly regained momentum by winning in all of their last three outings. Villa’s home form has been superb this season, dropping just eight points in 13 home games, leaving them as favourites to extend their current five-point gap over Tottenham to eight come the end of the match.
Tottenham, however, are unlikely to roll over easily as they have the chance to cut Aston Villa’s lead to just two points with Spurs also having a game in hand over their upcoming opponents. They will be coming into the game in good spirits after their dominant display against Crystal Palace which saw them win 3-1 with goals from Timo Werner, Cristian Romero and Heung-min Son. However, with the game taking place at Villa Park this gives Aston Villa a big home advantage and we believe they will make the most of this and claim the victory.

Liverpool vs Manchester City
Erling Haaland initially made a slow start by his standards after his return from injury at the beginning of February, scoring three times in his first seven appearances. However, since then the Norwegian has exploded back into life and seemingly found the form that helped him to break multiple goalscoring records last season.
Haaland has netted an eye-watering seven goals in his last three games, including an outstanding performance against Luton Town in the FA Cup that saw him score five goals on the night. This puts him in incredible form coming into the game against Liverpool, where both teams will be aiming to take home the three points and end the matchday on top of the table.
While Liverpool have been defensively strong this season, conceding the second-lowest of any side in the league in 25, Haaland will still fancy his chances of scoring with the form he is currently in and we also expect the striker to get on the scoresheet in this game.
