The opening weekend of the Premier League was full of goals, as we predicted, and with more games across Europe this week, we have prepared another exciting feast of goalscorer picks.

Here are five picks for this week.

Kylian Mbappe vs Real Sociedad

Real Madrid began their campaign with a hard-fought win against Espanyol at the weekend in Jose Mourinho’s first La Liga game back as manager.

It was not a dominant performance, but they secured all three points and will be looking to make it two wins from two games against Real Sociedad this week. There should be goals for the hosts in this one, as Sociedad have conceded at least twice in each of their last four meetings with Real Madrid, conceding 12 goals.

Kylian Mbappe was unable to find the net against Espanyol, but he had a league-high 10 shots on goal and will be desperate to open his account.

Key Stat: Kylian Mbappe finished as La Liga’s top scorer last season with 25 goals in 31 appearances.

Pick: Mbappe to score anytime @1.55

Raphinha vs Athletic Bilbao

Barca won 5-0 at Elche in their league opener, and the Catalans have won six straight meetings between these two sides. Barca beat Athletic 4-0 at home last November, before thumping them 5-0 in the Super Cup earlier this year.

Barcelona’s Brazilian forward Raphinha looks set to spend more time operating as the central striker this season, and he was lethal against Elche, scoring twice and setting up another, making him a good pick to score anytime here.

Key Stat: Raphinha scored twice and provided an assist in Barcelona’s 5-0 opening day win over Elche.

Pick: Raphinha to score anytime @2.20

Cristiano Ronaldo vs Al Ettifaq

Al Nassr travel to face Al Ettifaq on Tuesday with Cristiano Ronaldo in line to make his first start of the new Saudi Pro League season.

Ronaldo missed Al Nassr’s opening 3-0 win over Al Fateh following an extended break after Portugal’s World Cup exit, before coming off the bench against Al Riyadh within 20 minutes.

The 41-year-old led Al Nassr to the league title last season and has now scored 130 goals in 149 games for the SPL champions.

Key Stat: Ronaldo scored 30 goals for Al Nassr last season, including 28 in the Saudi Pro League.

Pick: Ronaldo to score anytime @1.45

Richarlison vs Charlton

Tottenham welcome Championship side Charlton to North London in the EFL Cup second round, looking to bounce back from a humbling 3-0 defeat to Brentford at the weekend.

Roberto De Zerbi claimed his squad are “not a team yet” after that Brentford display and will be desperate to build some confidence with this cup tie.

Charlton arrive as heavy underdogs, having finished 19th in the Championship last season, and Spurs should have enough quality to record a comfortable home win. Richarlison should start for the hosts and is a good pick to score anytime.

Key Stat: Richarlison scored 12 goals last season and will be eager to find his form under De Zerbi.

Pick: Richarlison to score anytime @1.85

Hugo Cuypers vs Chicago Fire

This is one of the most intriguing storylines of the entire Leagues Cup. Belgian forward Hugo Cuypers returns to face his former club Chicago Fire in the quarterfinal.

Cuypers joined Monterrey in July after scoring 13 goals in just 11 MLS appearances in the first half of the season, setting a Chicago Fire record by scoring in 10 consecutive matches.

Chicago are the only MLS team to win all three of their Leagues Cup group games, so this is far from a straightforward task. But Cuypers will have a point to prove after being let go to make room for Robert Lewandowski.

Key Stat: Hugo Cuypers has scored 3 goals in 3 Leagues Cup appearances for Monterrey this season.

Pick: Cuypers to score anytime @2.60
