This season’s Champions League kicks off tonight with multiple of Europe’s biggest and best teams preparing to face each other as they look to kickstart their campaign in the perfect way.
The standout fixtures see PSG face up against Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich host Manchester United at the Allianz Arena.
But alongside this, there are many more enticing games happening across Europe that are sure to be thrilling spectacles.
Here’s what to look out for on Matchday 1:
Over 2.5 goals, 1.94 (at time of writing)
Milan and Newcastle have both been involved in high scoring games more often than not this season. Milan have scored nine and conceded seven in their opening four games in Serie A, while Newcastle have scored eight and also conceded seven in their first five games in the English League.
Based on this, we believe this game will involve lots of goals from both sides.
Mbappe to score, 1.70
Despite PSG’s struggles in their opening games, Kylian Mbappe has been on fire for his side. The Frenchman has scored an impressive seven goals in just three starts, averaging a goal every 44 minutes for his club.
Having also scored three times in his previous four games against Dortmund, we fancy Mbappe to improve his record against the German side.
Harry Kane to score, 1.90
Bayern Munich vs Manchester United
Harry Kane has scored five times in his seven games he has played across both club and country so far this season. With the Englishman scoring twice in his last two games, we back him to score again in the upcoming game.
Arsenal to win, 1.38
Arsenal and PSV have recorded impressive starts to their season’s, with both sidesyet to lose a game. However, with the quality that Arsenal now possess throughout their team and the fact they’ve waited years to play at this level, we believe that the home side will run out victorious come the end of the 90 minutes.
Osimhen to score, 2.20
Victor Osimhen has started this season in fine form scoring three goals in his opening four games for Napoli, while also scoring a hat-trick in the recent international break. The Nigerian also comes into this game after having an impressive Champions League campaign last season, as he scored five in six games last season for Napoli.
Despite only losing twice so far this season, Braga have leaked goals at the back with them conceding 10 goals in their opening five games in Liga Portugal. With Napoli being a fierce attacking side, Osimhen will certainly fancy his chances of scoring.
