Leicester vs Manchester City
Saturday 29th October, 12:30
While champions Manchester City have been utterly dominant at the Etihad Stadium so far this season, it hasn’t been as plain sailing away from home. In the five matches on the road, Pep Guardiola’s men have won two, drawn two and lost once. In fact, in all competitions, it’s now no wins in three away from the Etihad, which needs to be addressed this Saturday to keep within touching distance of leaders Arsenal. And of course they have just the man to do that in Erling Haaland. The 22-year-old netted twice in last weekend’s 3-1 win against Brighton to make it an incredible 17 goals from 11 league matches.
For Leicester, the Foxes have picked up form at just the right time. After five points from their first 10 matches, Brendan Rodgers’ side have recorded back-to-back victories to lift themselves out of the relegation zone. After last week’s crucial 2-0 win against fellow strugglers Leeds, Leicester backed that up by thrashing Wolves 4-0 at Molineux to overtake their Midlands rivals. Three clean sheets in a row is also cause for optimism for a squad of players that on paper should be too good to be involved in a relegation battle.
While Man City have the better recent head-to-head record between the two, Leicester do have a history of victories against them. This includes a 1-0 win in the 2021 Community Shield, a 5-2 success at the Etihad in 2020 and a 4-2 home win back in 2016.
Even though Man City are strong favourites at 1.30 with Bet9ja, the aforementioned form of both teams means it might not be as straightforward. A draw at 5.30 could be a tempting bet.
Bet9ja odds (at time of writing): Leicester win: 9.10, Draw. 5.30, Man City win: 1.30
Liverpool vs Leeds
Saturday 29th October, 19:45
The rarity of primetime Saturday night Premier League football arrives on Saturday, as Liverpool take on Leeds United in a fixture which has produced no shortage of goals in recent times.
A total of 18 strikes have been notched up in the four meetings between the clubs since Leeds were promoted back to the Premier League in 2020. Both fixtures last season proved to be comfortable for Liverpool, with wins of 0-3 at Leeds and 6-0 at Anfield. Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 12 games against Leeds, stretching back to 2001.
Liverpool go into Saturday’s game with four wins from their last five games, including a 0-3 success at Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday, but they were beaten in a shock 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest in their last Premier League game. Their league form has proved to be inconsistent so far, as they are yet to build a winning streak of more than two games.
Anfield has been a fortress for the Reds in recent times, as they are unbeaten at home in the league since March 2021.
Leeds have failed to win any of their last eight games, and are still waiting for their first away win of the season. They go to Anfield on the back of four straight defeats, including a 2-3 loss at home to Fulham last week. Liverpool are still conceding more than a goal a game on average though, with 13 shipped in 11 league games so far, and both teams to score is priced at 1.58 with Bet9ja.
Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez is in a hot streak of form, with four goals from his last four starts. He is 4.80 with Bet9ja to score first on Saturday and 1.90 to score at any time.
Bet9ja odds (at time of writing): Liverpool win: 1.35, Draw: 5.60, Leeds win: 8.10
Bournemouth vs Tottenham
Saturday 29th October, 15:00
Both teams are in need of a win for different reasons, to arrest poor recent form. After a good start to the season, Bournemouth have lost back-to-back matches and won one in five. For Tottenham, Antonio Conte’s men haven’t won any of their last three, including consecutive league defeats. The Cherries have only ever recorded one win against Spurs once in the league, which came in 2019. Harry Kane is 3.95 to be first goalscorer at Bet9ja, and add to his 10 Premier League goals for 2022/23.
Bet9ja odds (at time of writing): Bournemouth win: 5.00, Draw: 3.90, Arsenal: 1.70
Brentford vs Wolves
Saturday 29th October, 15:00
Brentford have managed just one win in their last six games, and have failed to score in four of those games. Their opponents Wolves are in dire form however, and sit second from bottom in the table without an away win since March. Brentford or draw is priced at 1.32.
Bet9ja odds (at time of writing): Brentford win: 2.25, Draw: 3.40, Wolves win: 3.25
Brighton vs Chelsea
Saturday 29th October, 15:00
Graham Potter returns to the club he managed for more than three years up until last month. The former Brighton boss will know the hosts inside out, which could help change his side’s fortunes of two straight draws in the league. He’s still undefeated as Chelsea manager and it would be a surprise if that isn’t still the case come Saturday evening, with Brighton winless in five. The home side have found goals hard to come by recently, which is why a Chelsea win and under 1.5 goals at 8.50 could be good value.
Bet9ja odds (at time of writing): Brighton win: 2.88, Draw: 3.30, Chelsea: 2.54
Crystal Palace vs Southampton
Saturday 29th October, 15:00
Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace have scored and conceded in all of their last five home games, and have come back from behind to win the last two against Leeds and Wolves. Southampton are unbeaten in three games and managed an impressive 1-1 draw at home to Arsenal last week. The draw at 3.55 stands out in this one.
Bet9ja odds (at time of writing): Crystal Palace win: 1.97, Draw: 3.55, Southampton win: 4.00
Newcastle vs Aston Villa
Saturday 29th October, 15:00
With just one defeat all season and four wins in the last five, the home team are in great shape as they sit fourth in the table. Villa swept Brentford aside 4-0 last week after parting company with Steven Gerrard as manager earlier in the week. But with no away league wins this season for Villa, Newcastle to win and over 2.5 goals at 2.84 looks appealing.
Bet9ja odds (at time of writing): Newcastle win: 1.88, Draw: 3.65, Aston Villa win: 4.20
Fulham vs Everton
Saturday 29th October, 17:30
With three wins, two draws and one defeat from six home games this season, making Craven Cottage more of a fortress is proving key to Fulham’s strong start to the campaign. They have also been impressive in attack at home, scoring 13 goals in those six home games. Everton ended a run of three straight losses by beating Crystal Palace 3-0 last week. Over 2.5 goals is priced at 1.86.
Bet9ja odds (at time of writing): Fulham win: 2.38, Draw: 3.35, Everton win: 3.05
Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest
Sunday 30th October, 15:00
Leaders Arsenal will be aiming to get back to winning ways after drawing at Southampton last week. However, it’s five unbeaten for the Gunners with just one defeat in the league so far. Despite their superb win against Liverpool last week, Forest are still bottom of the league. Gabriel Jesus is just 1.85 to score anytime and add to his five league goals so far.
Bet9ja odds (at time of writing): Arsenal win: 1.19, Draw: 7.30, Nottingham Forest win: 15.00
Manchester United vs West Ham
Sunday 30th October, 17:15
Not since that infamous Carlos Tevez goal which helped save West Ham from relegation in 2007 have the visitors won at Old Trafford in the Premier League. David Moyes returns to his old club with his West Ham side winning just once away from home so far this season. United are unbeaten in four league matches and are just outside the top four. It’s hard to look past a Man United win at 1.73 with Bet9ja.
Bet9ja odds (at time of writing): Man Utd win: 1.73, Draw: 3.95, West Ham win: 4.70
