Matchday 5 of the UEFA Champions League takes place this week, and with it being so late in the group stage it is the last chance for some sides to keep their qualification hopes alive. With so many huge games taking place, we’ve picked out our top tips and booking code for this week’s action.
The biggest stories across the groups see Manchester United face up against Galatasaray in a game where a loss would deny them any chance of advancing out the group. With their last game being against Bayern Munich, only a win will do for United to give them the best chance of making it to the knockout rounds.
Group F is the other big story, as matchday three blew the group wide open with Dortmund getting their second win in a row and Milan managing a shock victory over PSG. This has left the group with all four teams still able to finish in top spot as current leaders Borussia Dortmund sit just three points above bottom-placed Newcastle United.
Manchester United to win, 2.48
Galatasaray vs Manchester United
Manchester United have had a really tough time of it in the Champions League this season, managing to pick up just three points from their first four games. The last time these two faced up Galatasaray came from behind twice before scoring late in the game to take the points, however, United have improved in recent times – taking 12 points from their last five league games.
Despite struggling in previous trips to Turkey, we expect that Man United will come out firing in this one as they know this is their last chance to keep their qualification hopes alive.
Jude Bellingham to score anytime, 3.30
Real Madrid vs SSC Napoli
Jude Bellingham made his return for Real Madrid on Sunday after being out for nearly three weeks with injury. Marking his return with yet another goal, Bellingham has already scored 14 goals for his new side in just 15 appearances.
With three goals in his three Champions League appearances too, including one in the reverse fixture against Napoli, we expect Bellingham to continue his goalscoring form and grab yet another goal in this one.
PSG to win, 1.64
PSG vs Newcastle United
PSG have lost twice so far in Group F, these being a shock 2-1 defeat to Milan in their last outing and a 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United back in October. While Newcastle United will take huge confidence from their previous win, PSG will have the backing of the home crowd at the Parc des Princes in this one and are sure to fancy themselves to take the victory.
Newcastle United did record another impressive 4-1 victory over Chelsea this weekend, but with two back-to-back losses in the previous games they are not coming into this game in the strongest of form. With this, we expect PSG to take all three points come the end of the game.
Milan and Borussia Dortmund to draw, 3.60
Milan vs Borussia Dortmund
Both Milan and Borussia Dortmund have struggled in recent weeks, with neither side able to go on a run of consecutive wins for a significant period. Milan have won four and lost three of their last 10, while Dortmund have won three and lost two of their last six.
Neither side were able to score during their last matchup in Dortmund as the game ended 0-0, and with the two sides being so even in quality we expect that they will come to yet another stalemate in this one.
