Nigeria head into the 2026 Unity Cup final hoping to maintain their 100% winning record in the competition, having previously lifted the trophy in the 2002, 2004 and 2025 editions.
Two of those victories came thanks to wins against Jamaica in the final, with a 1-0 triumph in 2002 and a dramatic 5-4 penalty win following a thrilling 2-2 draw in the 2025 competition.
Although Eric Chelle named a rotated squad for this competition, with the manager using the tournament to assess non-regular and new additions to the Super Eagles team, Nigeria impressed in their semi-final encounter.
Debutant Femi Azeez was particularly impressive for Chelle’s team, scoring in each half to lead the Super Eagles to a comfortable 2-0 win against Zimbabwe, booking their place in the final against Jamaica.
Although Nigeria will be the favourites to defend their crown once again, Jamaica will be eager to get revenge for two final defeats by securing a win and lifting the trophy for the first-ever time.
Jamaica will be confident off the back of a comfortable semi-final win against India, with the Reggae Boys taking just eight minutes to stamp their authority on the game as Courtney Clarke finished following a superb counterattack.
Kaheim Dixon added a second with 12 minutes left to play to seal the win for Jamaica, ensuring they will match up against Nigeria in the final yet again.
Team News
Azeez was undoubtedly the standout performer for Nigeria in their semi-final win against Zimbabwe, with the debutant forward netting both goals to lead the Super Eagles to a 2-0 win.
Several other new faces also impressed, though, including Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, who kept a clean sheet in his first appearance for the national team.
Meanwhile, Jamaica could also name an unchanged starting team following the comfortable semi-final victory against India.
Nigeria Predicted XI: Okonkwo, Chibueze, Nwaiwu, Ogbu, Igboke, Yusuf, Nnadi, Tijani, Moffi, Azeez, Otele
Jamaica Predicted XI: Boyce-Clarke, Cover, Ming, Lowe, Samuels-Smith, Hayden, Hall, Dixon, Clarke, Fuller, Cadamarteri

While Jamaica will, therefore, be hugely motivated to get revenge and secure the Unity Cup title, Nigeria remain the stronger team on paper and will be expected to retain the trophy for the fifth consecutive time.
