Nigerians Who Have Won UEFA Trophies
Only a handful of Nigerian players have ever won major UEFA competitions, spanning the Champions League and Europa League.
In the UEFA Champions League, Finidi George and Nwankwo Kanu were part of Ajax’s legendary 1995 side that beat AC Milan 1-0 in the final. 17 years later, John Obi Mikel became the third Nigerian to lift the trophy, playing a key role as Chelsea defeated Bayern Munich on penalties in 2012.
